This couple came into NYC from Australia to get married, they were lovely to work with. Having never met them till that day we were emailing back and forth about the looks. Amanda wanted a classic 1920's inspired updo while Sheri wanted to use her natural curl for a polished textured updo. Don't worry city brides, I will still be available in NYC, but after finding a great farmhouse in Rhinebeck, NY my husband and I plan to spilt our weekend time. I have done many beautiful upstate weddings but with that came a long drive and travel costs. Looking forward to exploring more of the beautiful country side as a "local".
This bride and groom were very special to me. Mike was my husband's roommate in college and then lived with us the year we got married. Finding Mike a wife was a top priority after my wedding planning. I was lucky enough to find Lindsay for him through a coworker of mine. Getting Lindsay glam was a little nerve wracking, she has never had her hair done for an event and loved it. I think she just settled with the idea of putting her hair up and just dealing with it. Mike really wanted her to wear her hair down and I wanted to prove to her it could look great! It is so fun to make a bride feel beautiful, even more special when they are your friend!
We enhanced her hair with some extensions and gave her glamorous waves. She still refers to this as her "Courtney hair day" at times. See more great photos on their Style me Pretty feature: http://www.stylemepretty.com/2015/07/27/classic-elegant-new-york-city-wedding/
Margarita had gorgeous hair to begin with. She wore a beautiful Reem Acra dress that we complimented with soft waves. I love this style on my brides, simple beautiful hair paired with a gorgeous gown. Keri was such a beautiful bride I had the pleasure of working with last summer. I love the way her updo came out glamorous yet undone. We used extensions to get extra "umph" with her bun. I had the absolute pleasure to travel to Portofino, Italy last Labor Day weekend for my first international wedding. It was a breathtaking weekend I felt so lucky to be a part of it. Their wedding video was featured on Style Me Pretty, watch it here and see more photos posted on One Fab Day.
Sorry Brides, it has been a busy year. Not only did the launch of The Tonight Show happen this Feburary (where I work Mon-Fri) but I also am pregnant with my first child, and had a long year of beautiful brides, both clients and friends! I plan to update my site and blog before going on Maternity leave from November-January. For any winter brides, feel free to still reach out, I have some wonderful assistants taking over during my time off!
I love sharing my trial photos because so often the bride and I play with so many different styles, but you can only choose one! Here is a collection of some of my favorite trial looks from this year.
Excuse the images if they are a little blurry (IPHONE), and just click on the photo to get to the next.
I had so much fun with this group of bridesmaids. They all wanted their hair off their necks since it was a hot summer day, but they wanted to keep their looks casual and fun. Braids and twists are such a great trend going on right now, especially for the bridal party. Sometimes I steer brides away from these trendy looks just to keep your bridal look more classic. But there are definitely brides out there that can pull these looks off!
